I love gender neutral fashion, and I love seeing items of fashion become de-gendered. Brogue (wingtip) shoes have traditionally been considered a fancy-dress item for men. The past few years saw them soar in popularity for people of all genders. I love the simple aesthetic with light embellishments that differ shoe to shoe. The shape of the shoe definitely fits into the more traditionally ‘masculine’ while the embellishments often have flourishes that feel distinctly ‘feminine’. Their presence together makes for a beautiful, gender-neutral, comfortable shoe, but the price point for a nice pair can be pretty painful. This is a problem a lot of gender-neutral fashion faces; it’s often high end and inaccessible.
