Sideways dictionary is a fun web app that explains technical concepts using analogies. For example, open source is “like baking a cake for a friend, then giving them the recipe”. Each definition has several analogies that are often both funny and clarifying. Users can log in to write definitions so the whole tool is community-driven. I love the clean aesthetic and the sideways scroll (in keeping with the name). Overall it’s a fun, open, accessible piece of design.
