For my WIG, I chose my trusty pair of Vans. I picked these up at an Urban Outfitters three years ago, and they are still holding up well till today. The shoe itself is light on the foot, but sturdily built. I would say the biggest draw of the show, however, is the pattern. If you can’t tell from the picture (or title), there are little Pineapple Skulls all over the shoes. From a distance, it’s pretty difficult to tell what they are; regardless, I think they are funky enough to turn a couple of heads, but at the same time, they are simple enough to throw on with a pair of jeans. And it is in that very dynamic between simplicity and complexity that I really see the aesthetic value of these shoes.
