Yes. I got on the bandwagon. While flying back from Hawaii, all sad and heartbroken, I decided to try to lessen my anxiety by watching Tidying Up with Marie Kondo. Little did I know that this would change my life. For those who don’t know, the KonMari Method™ encourages tidying by category – not by location – beginning with clothes, then moving on to books, papers, komono (miscellaneous items), and, finally, sentimental items. The goal is to keep only those things that speak to the heart and discard items that no longer spark joy. The goal is to hold everything that you own, say thank you to it when you do not need it, and donate anything that doesn’t make you happy. And wow. My life is so different. Everything that I own makes me happy. And, if it doesn’t, like if I missed something, I just simply get rid of it. I did this because I was going through a bad breakup, but I suggest it to anyone who thinks they own too much stuff. The KonMari Method changed not only my life, but my outlook on life as well.
