When trying to decide what I wanted to do for this week’s WIG, I wanted to choose I product which I loyally and regularly use. So, I chose the simple, yet very effective BIC 0.7mm Mechanical Pencil. I made the switch from regular pencils to mechanical pencils sometime in middle school and have not looked back since. Of the various brands that I have used, I find myself always gravitating back towards BIC’s 0.7mm Mechanical Pencil. The lead size is substantial enough to where it won’t break anytime I apply a bit of pressure on the pencil, but at the same time, the lead is also not unnecessarily thick. The pencil itself is convenient, cheap, and reliable. Unlike other brands of mechanical pencils (e.g. Sumo Grip), which tend to be large and cost anywhere from $4-$10 for a single pencil, the BIC pencil is conveniently sized and is offered on Amazon in a pack of 24 for less than $4. As a person who loses a lot of things, the BIC mechanical pencil has been the perfect writing utensil.
