My Tensira floor and throw cushions make a stunning, comfortable setting for lounging. They are made of pure cotton and are hand spun, hand woven, and hand dyed and filled with Kapok, a natural fiber that comes from the fruit of the tropical Kapok tree (also called the silk-cotton tree due to the very silky touch of its fiber) and dyed with vegetable indigo dye. Tensira, the French textiles company that designs the cushions, combines modern design and centuries-old Guinean know-how in weaving and dyeing. Highly-skilled Guinean artisans make the textiles and Tensira prides itself on organizing the business based on principles of fair trade and environmental sustainability. I found them in Pod, one of boutiques in Cambridge.
