My general theory is that the more active I am, the more likes I get. I don’t use Facebook much.
Likes beget likes. When I was active, people would see my photos more in their feeds as well as
when I was responsive to their. Thus when I’m active, my photos are actually seen by friends and I
get about 100 likes. The exceptions are when I post a lot about the same event (music festival,
daughter’s birthday, etc) then one photo is chosen or when the photo is of exceptionally poor quality.
It appears that network effects predominate on social impact over subject and photo quality
