The scrunchie has constantly made comebacks throughout the ages. Every time that I think the scrunchie is a dead trend, I see people wearing them around again. In the 80s, the accessory made its’ way as one of the most beloved hair accessories. The Scrunchie was patented in 1987 by Rommy Revson [1]. All ages and cultures appeared to be rocking the scrunchie.

I personally have a lot of scrunchies. I like them because of the vintage vibe that they give to an outfit. They also don’t tear out hair when they’re worn, which is an issue that people have with the standard hair tie. They also add a sense of fun to an outfit; there are many different patterns and fabrics to choose from. I have been able to wear the scrunchie throughout most stages of my life, demonstrating the versatility and timelessness of the product.
