This collaborative ad campaign between beer company Stella Artois and Matt Damon’s charity Water.org is a natural win-win-win for all three parties involved. Stella partners with a charity centered around its main ingredient and cleverly named it the “Buy a Lady a Drink” campaign which not only fits with its previous advertisements but also ties into the point of Water.org, which is to reduce the amount of time women spend collecting water in third world countries. They also leverage the star power of Matt Damon, who gets to push his cause without sacrificing any of his integrity. Finally Water.org gets the clear benefit of fundraising and increasing name recognition. Unlike the now infamous Pepsi commercial, this Stella campaign is an example of cause-based advertising done right.
