Through Bedphonezzz, we espoused the values of the DO LESS counterculture. In a world where fitness classes like Soul Cycle, Barry’s Bootcamp, and Orange Theory monopolize society’s view of “healthy living,” Bedphonezzz is part of the counter culture that rejects this notion. Rather than encouraging people to be active, Bedphonezzz requires inactivity. Bedphonezzz users also reject any attraction to sleek branding and design. Apple iPhone, for instance, revolutionized headphones with their iconic, subtle white earbuds. Similarly, Beats by Dre marketed its product through celebrity commercials and a recognizable logo. Bedphonezzz, on the other hand, have sacrificed form for functionality in every design decision. Furthermore, Bedphonezzz’s logo contrasts heavily with the Apple and Beats by Dre branding—no startup would dare use a logo so outmoded. One main feature is an automated forehead massage that protrudes from the Bedphonezzz. Whenever a user wears the Bedphonezzz, they can flip a switch to turn on and off the massage. The second feature is an iphone holder. A Bedphonezzz user can lie down on their back and balance an iPhone on their Bedphonezzz, enabling them to enjoy movies hands-free for as long as they’d like. Finally, Bedphonezzz have an “over the ear” design. This ensures that any Bedphonezzz user is disconnected from the outside world. As a result, Bedphonezzz users enjoy total comfort when they wear our product. In many ways, Bedphonezzz is a lifestyle as much as it is a product. As we designed Bedphonezz, we thought of similar products that rebuff design in favor of comfort. Snuggie Blankets came to mind. We see Bedphonezzz as the perfect fit pair with Snuggies. Only if someone believes in the DO LESS counterculture would they ever think of using the two together.
