What I’ve Got: Minimalist Marvel Poster

by post_author

I found this poster last year in a store in the square and thought it was really cool. I think the reason that minimalism is so appealing in this instance is because it appeals to both the conscious and subconscious mind. In one way, we see these designs that use minimal space and think “oh hey that’s pretty cool,” but psychologically I think a lot of the enjoyment comes from mental engagement. Because the images aren’t explicit, it serves almost the same effect as a lecturer prompting the students with a question, it causes us to put just a tiny bit of mental effort into understanding it as a piece of art and therefore we appreciate it more and it sticks with us better.
