As I continue to post a backlog of
“What I’ve Got” posts that I was unable to upload because I was without
Internet last week, I turn to knee high socks, one of my favorite fashion
discoveries during college. While knee high socks might be attributed to the
elementary school days (case in point: the last time I wore them before coming
to college was, in fact, during elementary school), they prove to be incredibly
functional during cold Boston winters and rainy fall days. I am a fan of
wearing skirts (even when it is less than 10 degrees Fahrenheit), and layering
knee high socks over tights/leggings allows me to continue wearing the skirts
while keep my feet and legs warm. Knee high socks are one example of an
instance where a questionable design can be made “desirable” with a little bit
of creativity.
