Still a neophyte into the world of VR? In 2015, Google dropped a low-cost virtual reality viewer system meant to encourage interest and accessibility for consumers and developers. The design development apparently was not cheap, but the cardboard viewer allows more people to experiment and thereby, potentially increases the amount of people who may desire to develop android + iOS app

When released, later in the year, the New York Times on it’s November 8, 2015 issue, included the Google Cardboard VR sets for its home delivery subscribers. The users were encouraged to download the NY Times at that allowed for the news to be an immersive experience.

Currently retails for $15 and works with Android and iOS phones.
