My friends and I were planning a trip to Prague over Winter Break, and I discovered how useful Google Maps could be when planning a trip. We created a shared custom Google Map of Prague, where we each added restaurants, bars, historical attractions, etc.
You can add a location to the Map by just searching for the address and/or business name. The Map shows where each item is located, which allowed us to plan activities by proximity. You are also able to find directions from each location to the next and can even save sections of the map to view offline. We also customized the pins by color to designate the type of activity. One of the best parts was being able to share the Map so that everyone could contribute. The Map made planning for the trip much easier, especially since all of us weren’t in the same city leading up to the trip.
