Meet Smaug. He’s been sadly neglected in my mother’s attic for the past four years, but now that I’ve returned to living in a chilly climate, he’s back in action. Smaug is a humidifier shaped like a frog, and when he’s puffing out steam from the perfectly-placed vents above his eyes, he reminds me of his dragon namesake. Mostly, though, he’s just super cute – his rounded shape, bug eyes, and bright green color are definitely appealing. Humidifiers are really helpful for lessening the impact of dry weather and indoor heating, but they can be a pain to fill and keep clean. The comical frog design makes me feel more like I’m caring for a pet, so the process seems less onerous.
