For this challenge I decided to work on developing an actual personal portfolio website from scratch (instead of using the template I was before) and also create an icon for myself. The end result can be found here but it is still a work in progress. I wanted this website to showcase my photography, other artwork, and design work so I opted for some sort of photo carousel. I plan on adding links to the sidebar that will explain more about various projects I’ve done. I’m modeling this website after Ryan McGinley’s which I think is beautifully designed.

I’ve yet to implement the ability for the photos’ titles to appear in the lower left hand corner. I’ve also yet to include other content like essays and pictures of other artwork and design work I’ve done. Here is what I’ve made so far:

I’m still fleshing out the CSS and will be adding it to of course. Right now it’s not very mobile friendly and looks wonky when the window is resized but I look forward to adding to this website. The logo I made is a variation on my signature which includes an embellished cursive “L” letter. The curves sort of resemble a “G” which together are my initials.
