It’s interesting how everytime I search for products on Amazon, the search engine seems to understand me and immediately lists out suggestions that are highly related to my choices.
Therefore, I want to do some research on its ranking algorithm.
Contrary to the algorithm to count views on Youtube, the algorithm to rank results are open to publish. The key take-away here is the how the node system and how query works.
There are many positions opening for the team to continue developing the personalization of the products suggestions.
What is left unclear is how Amazon/ A9 collects the queries for the products. Furthermore, the format of the items in the queries also matters. The gap could be filled by asking a software engineer or a data analyst to see how machines could retrieve items in a set of data.
