The StandStand is a collapsable elevated wooden platform that is designed to counter the practice of sitting for prolonged periods of time — what the StandStand website calls “the new smoking,” citing hip, back, and heart problems to stem from that practice. The StandStand is a sleek, sturdy, and intelligently designed portable standing desk aimed at supporting laptops with or without a mouse at varying heights and in a range of materials, from birch to bamboo. The designs are also quite affordable!
For me, the StandStand is quite close to home, literally. It was designed and produced by Luke Leafgren, the Allston Burr Assistant Dean of Mather House!
