Sometimes things are desirable because of the very fact that they aren’t practical. I received this “cookie skillet” over the holidays that can only make a single cookie and came with the dry ingredients for that one cookie. One can’t really use it for anything else… perhaps a single fried egg would fit, but that’s about it. Even though the skillet is made of sturdy iron, there is an ephemerality to it because it’s not very (re)usable. This elevates the humble chocolate chip cookie to something a little more interesting.
