The blue recycling bin with the big white recycling logo and the black handle provided by our college resides quietly in a corner next to my desk. With miscellaneous items already filling up my room, I did not want something unattractive taking up precious space. The ReBin reimagines the recycling bin to something less obstructive and more modern. Its shape mimics the brown paper bags from grocers which makes the bin itself also seem eco-friendly. Being made from 100% plastic further pushes the bin’s image towards that direction. I like how the purpose of the item and the material design of the item match in intention. Moreover, it looks clean and simple; I can see it fitting in any environment. However, a problem is that people may not always have paper bags in handy to use as the “garbage bag,” but if they do not mind, they do not need to use an extra bag.
