In my pursuit to have fewer things, I have stumbled across the best pen someone could have if they were to only have one pen. The Lamy 2000 is so beautifully designed that has a home in the museum of modern art. The pen is light weight and balances perfectly in your hand. The nib is small and unobtrusive, and yet writes smoothly. Perhaps most beautiful is how the pen refills itself: simply dip the nib in a pool of ink, and unscrew the back of the pen slightly. Though the back is seamless, it begins to unscrew and creates a vacuum that sucks up ink. When the pen is full, simply screw the back down into black and continue writing with the pen. I am in love with its simplicity of operation and how it solves an otherwise messy process.
