Design products that involve viewing nature in a new light, as depicted by the picture above, really appeals to my sense of desirability. The tree bookshelf and the grass carpet illustrate my attraction to creative approaches to incorporating more “nature” into our lives. From my “New Day” clock, you can see how I try to bring harmony to what is man-made and nature. In addition, I also am intrigued by efficient uses of resources like energy, as seen with the SALt and powermat devices. My clock design attempts to use resources in multiple ways; for the example, the water both indicates time and nourishes the herbs. Hence, one can observe that I like to design items that can have different functions. In another example, by adding a pocket to the pillow, I transformed it to be a small bag of sorts. Finally, all my designs have pushed for convenience and simplicity, enabling users to really feel connected to the product through frequent usage.
