Noun News Project

by post_author

The Noun News Project, suggests a partnership with the existing websitewww.thenounproject.com, in order to bring easily digestible and recognizable symbols to news stories.

The home screen is simple, with icons describing the different categories. The only text on the screen is the date.

Choosing a category will bring the reader to the 5 top stories of the day, each with a low-res headline photo.

Choosing the story brings up the lede, which is the introductory section of a news story that is intended to entice the reader to read the full story. It is a standard format addressing the “Who” “What” “Where” “When” “Why” of the piece.

Then, the user can scroll through these different elements, to get a briefing of the current headline, with a small amount of text below. This text could potentially be automatically translated, just to aid the symbols above.
