You’ve Got Style
We envision the listener experience to be fun and upbeat above all else. We created a song that we believe any listener can listen to and dance to while walking down the street. We wanted to distance ourselves from the catchy but oftentimes meaningless genres of music that inundate the Top 40, and instead create a song that can transcend time with its timeless feel.
Our song is danceable, its hum-along-able, and so catchy. We want people to exude good, happy emotions when listening to our song. We spend enough time walking on the street with our heads down; we need to be more excited!
When visioning for our song, we wanted to make sure that we are relevant, and give the people what they want. We spent a good amount of time listening to different songs (many on the Top 40; they’re probably the worst songs you could get stuck in your head, but they’re undeniably catchy), and found inspiration from songs including Uptown Funk, All About That Bass, Blurred Lines, and Papa Was a Rollin’ Stone.
These songs all inherently have a sound that is unique, set apart from the rest of the teeny-bopper, Jonas Brothers/Katy Perry-esque songs that we all know and love. Our sound can be categorized in the funk-pop contemporary genre, and it also has a poignant soul feeling, catering to what’s been popular in the Top 40 charts, as well as spectrum of age-groups that can appreciate the catchy, soulful, time traveling song.
