With their simple, clean aesthetic and hipster appeal, Warby Parker has been changing the scape of eyewear. Instead of an individual having to pay high prices to order lenses and frames from their optometrist, Warby Parker packages the entire eyeglasses ordering process into the consumer simply taking a photograph of their prescription and using an online tool to take a measurement. They cut out middle men and manufacture all of their own products. Their selection of hip and more classic glasses and sunglasses with style names like “Jennings” and “Ames” are all available for a free 5 day home try-on. With most of their glasses going for $95 a pair, Warby Parker is turning eyeglasses into an accessory, like a scarf, or pair of shoes. This company is fulfilling a need (corrected vision) in a new, different way.
