This is an app that checks up on you, and when you do not respond, immediately notifies your emergency contacts that you may be in danger. Although this app is well-intentioned and you have control over when you want it to go into effect, I foresee multiple issues. What about when you do not respond within the 5 minute timeframe? Do your emergency contacts receive a message and begin to panic? Will phone calls to the police department spike as a result of this app? What if you are in real danger and your phone is stolen and your assailant hacks your phone and nobody actually knows your real status? I might be taking these questions too far, but I can’t quite see the effectiveness and reach of this app.
