The Bublcam (Kickstarter funded, in development) is a baseball-sized camera allowing the capture of 360 spherical video (similar to technology used on Google Street View). The camera has an overlapping tetrahedral configuration of separate capture devices, allowing a complete overlap of views. The system is organic in that it activates with a simple push-button to capture in either still or video. The baseball size shows the consideration of the human element (the size of the human hand) and the need for portability in any device used for image capture. Attention to detail is best showcased by the large number of uses for the device – everything from streaming video capabilities for conferences to tools enabling filmmakers to create in 360 degrees. For this, the Bublcam is a successful example of product desirability.
