Not so long ago, watching television was an isolated affair.  But sometime since the existence of Twitter and New York Magazine’s culture blog, it has become something not just to talk about, but to write about.  Everyone is a TV critic, and the website even features recaps of the recaps, or the best readers comments or tweets on TV shows.  TV recaps are consistently some of the website’s most viewed and most commented pieces, and countless blogs and publications publish their own (nymag is just my personal favorite).  On Twitter, tweeting at a show or a show’s characters has become standard fare, with most shows displaying a hashtag in the corner of the screen for tweeters to connect, meaning even in a moment of TV escapism, you’re still not totally separated from your social networks.
