For my viral challenge, I chose to take a look at the evolution of competitive men’s swimsuits. This topic was a huge point of contention and occupied many athletic talk show hosts when, in the 2012 London Olympics, athletes no longer wore full body suits.
For my infographic, I chose to use ‘novel insight’ by looking at a lineage that people are interested in, but have never really seen complied. My infographic looks at a chart of images that show the style of suit, the year it were popularized, the material composition, and the average price. I chose these categories because they are most telling as to the innovation that has taken place over the last 100 years. My infographic uses a modern yet vintage color pallet and draws the attention of the viewer to the renderings.
