Designing for Desirability: iPads

iPads were highly doubted before their release because they did not seem to solve a fundamental need; comparable solutions existed, and tablets had never really caught on.  But, as is traditional of Apple, the iPad is a sleek product that provided the intermediate between smartphones and computers.  It was accessible and even magical – it was what users thought computers should be like, an easy extension of our fingertips rather than a point of focus.

Technology as a tool, not a lifestyle.
