For my project at the Active Learning Labs, I decided to build a toolbox made up of several laser and machine-cut pieces of wood. I chose this project because I wanted to get experience with both the laser cutter as well as with the woodshop tools. I had never used a laser cutter before, so I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to learn how to use it and how useful of a machine it really is. While I have not yet attached the horizontal wooden side braces (because I had messed up the first time and cut them too short), my box has turned out to be quite a success, and I was quite pleased with the final product, which closely resembled the example model.
