The AntiCafe is a phenomenon I learned about while spending a summer abroad in Paris. This cafe is one where you pay not by the item, but by the hour. For about $6 an hour, you can get unlimited drinks, snacks, and a very nice workspace. It is great for those who are looking for short-term co-working space, but the price does add up over time. The anticafe concept is popular in Europe, but not in most of the US (though there is also one in Brooklyn). I think that there are so many creative possibilities to extend this concept further—what other types of spaces could have this pay structure? How could it be made more affordable and accessible?
