Jeans are a fascinating item. They are something that everyone has but that no one knows much about. Jeans have become just an item of American Culture. But, jeans are not the most positive item. Jean is one of the most wasteful fabrics in the world. It takes around 1000 gallons of water to produce a single pair of Jeans. Jeans use a massive amount of cotton (48% of that 1000 gallons being consumed during farming) and cotton is already a very wasteful crop. Cotton farming accounts for 24% of all of the worlds insecticide use. The way jeans are made also makes them incredibly difficult to repurpose the fibers.
