Telegram is an end-to-end encrypted messaging application created in 2013 with over 100mm monthly active users as of early 2016. I find it relevant today because privacy has become one of the concerns of the general public, and Telegram has always been based on privacy. It offers reply and quote features, which allows larger groups to still be effective, but isn’t dependent on threads like Slack. Overall, I find it a very useful app, and see it continuing to grow in popularity given the current climate around privacy.
