This is the first, recently FDA approved digital pill. It is embedded with a small sensor that allows doctors to track wether or not the patient is taking the medication. This is a significant advancement in MedTech. Of course, this comes with many privacy concerns that need to be worked out before it can be commonly used and beneficial (they have already connected it to an app which the patient can use to turn off the notifications to doctors or others whenever they want), but this will change the field for so many illnesses that cause patients to forget or refuse medication.
