According to its website, “the Moleskine brand was created in 1997, bringing back to life the legendary notebook used by artists and thinkers over the past two centuries, such as Vincent van Gogh, Pablo Picasso, Ernest Hemingway, and Bruce Chatwin.” There’s clearly already been a strong historical tradition of these esteemed figures jotting down their thoughts in these notebooks. Personally, I think it’s interesting that they’ve become so popular, given the digital age we live in. I appreciate their flexible covers and easily portable size.
