I thought it was really interesting that there are two different entrances to the staircase going up and the staircase going down in one of the Currier towers. I wonder about the design decision behind this, because I can’t see any reason why the stairways wouldn’t just be connected, and there would just be one door to enter the staircase. I feel like the extra door is simply unnecessary material used, and could be confusing for people who don’t read door signs (indicating which staircase if going up, and which is going down). Also RE: Don Norman – anything that needs a label/sign can probably be better designed.
