Everlane’s wrinkle free shirts have been a staple in my wardrobe for the past year. As a busy grad student who may not always make the time for ironing shirts, it’s a convenient and reliable piece in my wardrobe. After reading about the history of wrinkle free shirts, I realize now that they are controversial with their use of chemical resin. But as someone who doesn’t even feel this difference I will be on the side of supporting wrinkle free shirts for now.
One more thing I enjoy about Everlane is their clever label. Seeing that a product is “Made in China” lowers it perceived value. But seeing that the produce is “Made in Shenzhen, China” makes one feel like you are supporting Everlane’s mission for “radical transparency.” It’s amazing how one word can change the branding of the product.
