If you ask my three-year old daughter “what’s our favorite thing at preschool?”, she responds, brightly, “Lunch!”. I believe there are two main reasons for this: first, my ability to put together a daily variety of good meals, second, is her amazing lunchbox.
The OmieBox is a thermal insulated lunch box with two temperature zones for storing hot and cold foods. It has three and a half separate leak-proof bento compartments keep food separated, making her veggies, berries, and cheeses visually appealing. There is care in all the elements; the materials are food grade stainless steel and silicon, phthalate-free plastic, BPA-free, FDA-Approved. OmieBox uses two types of insulation so lunch is always served at the perfect temperature. Air insulation, vacuum insulation plus an airtight seal minimizes heat transfer to keep lunch fresh and yummy. Unlike most food jars that are deep and narrow, our vacuum insulated bowl is wide and shallow, so kids can easily scoop food out. Plus it’s easier to clean. The thermos top has a broad handle which provides leverage that even a preschooler can open. It gives her a sense of confidence and agency over her daily sustenance.
Many of these bougie products aimed at parents miss an essential element of products for kids: Durability. The OmieBox, by contrast, is a solid piece of manufacturing. Three years of being subjected to typical child-handing (including banging and throwing) and five-day a week dishwasher use, and it’s both still fully functional and looking good. Not necessarily just for kids. My husband used it over the summer when he was the only one in school when he wanted to pack fancy, multi-course lunches.
