What matters more than the content and personal significance is the overall quality of a photo. When the content, level of significance, and even how other people relate to the photos are similar, it is the small details such as brightness, tone, focus that set exceptional photos apart. By looking at my friend’s instagram photos, I realized that the photos with a clear focus, high contrast, and good proportion are the ones that receive the most likes. On the contrast, photos that are not perfectly aligned, has multiple focuses, and generally darker receive less attention.
