I got an engine turned belt buckle for my thirteenth birthday, and I’ve worn it for months at a time since then. In class, we’ve discussed how the most valuable objects we have often hold sentimental value. That remains true for the belt buckle. I’m usually not a fan of monogramming because I think it can be gaudy. Here, however, I have a different opinion because of the tradition behind the object. Interestingly, several different companies produce this identical object. It’s meant to be an heirloom for future generations.
