Recently, I have been watching the Netflix series Abstract, and I was inspired by the episode about the photographer Platon. Interestingly, Platon keeps things as simple as he can he uses the same: box, black and white film, camera, and white or black backdrop. When asked “Why do you keep everything the same?” Platon explains that he is dyslexic so when he can keep the things in his control constant he can go a lot deeper and become more evocative in his work. This notion seemed very compelling to me. Platon acknowledges what is most important to him in his work, and he visually captures emotion in a very powerful way.

Platon’s work and methods and very desirable, as humans naturally want to connect with others, and Platon provides us with a clear and concise way to access the complexities of emotion.
