Bespoke Post is a subscription box web site that I stumbled upon recently. It is the first one I’ve found that gives you not only the option to not receive your box in a given month, but to change your box to something else if you prefer. This model at first might not seem great because it doesn’t automatically charge people, but I would counter by suggesting that it lowers the barrier to becoming a subscriber (which is free), but there is still implicit pressure to purchase a box each month. The boxes themselves all seem to be a great value for their $45 price tag, and they follow a theme with cool instructions on improving lifestyle. The web site is a wealth of information, and is itself useful even without the boxes, but especially in conjunction with them (tons of blog posts about things that the boxes deal with).
