What I’ve Got – Nalgene Water Bottle
My Nalgene water bottle is the best bottle I’ve ever owned. It’s durable enough to withstand any backpacking trip, holds one liter of water, and never seems to leak. It’s also got volume markings on the sides, which not only tells me how much water I’m drinking, but also makes the bottle useful as a measuring cup for cooking, both while backpacking or at home.
Nalgene bottles were invented by chemist Emanuel Goldberg in the 1940s, and were used as plastic pipette jars. However, in the 1960s, scientists at the company began taking the jars on hiking trips and using them as water bottles, and a new use for the bottles was born.
