Our tasting group decided we wanted to identify the best possible coffee that can be made in the Harvard undergraduate dining halls. For such a complex task, we divided ourselves into three ingredient areas: Coffee, Milk, and Sugar. Once we each completed our individual tastings, we performed a joint tasting of the “ultimate cup” based on the flavor profiles and ratings that we determined individually.

This tasting revealed that Vanilla is the dominant coffee in the dining halls. The weak flavors and unusual bitterness that plagues all of the coffees is masked by the sweet flavor of vanilla just enough for one to return for a second cup.
Results of the “ultimate cup” group tasting coming soon.
