What I’ve Got – Wes Anderson Palettes
Someone recently mentioned The Grand Budapest Hotel, so I thought I’d chime in. I’m not the biggest fan of Wes Anderson movies (I know…I know), but I can’t fault his use of color. This tumblr creates palettes inspired by different Anderson films. Each palette is evocative and sets a distinct tone for the movie. One of Wes Anderson’s recent releases, The Grand Budapest Hotel, has an incredibly rich and desirable color story. Different time periods are identified through different saturations and pop colors, making color decisively intertwined with the storyline. The overall aesthetic of the movie is inspired by Photochrom prints (colorized black and white photographs), which subtly evokes feelings of nostalgia in the viewer. Released in the spring, The Grand Budapest Hotel’s bright pinks and blues are a welcome respite from the dreary winter landscape.
