The world’s first glow in the dark road was just painted in the Netherlands thanks to Studio Roosegaarde. The luminescent paint has replaced streetlights in 500m of roadway, saving energy costs while producing an ethereal effect. This is just the pilot, so it’s yet to be seen how well the new product will hold up with wear and tear. There’s no additional contracts in the works yet, but Roosegaarde is calling for a quicker adoption of innovative solutions.
