Zuni is a Native American pueblo of New Mexico. Their artisans are renown for their turquoise and silver jewelry, but more so for what is called the “squash blossom.” Most were made of a string of plain round silver beads interspersed with more stylized “squash blossoms”, and featured a pendant, or “naja”, hung from the center of the strand. That the necklaces have become more intricate in recent years have made them high demand collector’s items.
