Mapbox is a really awesome startup that allows users to create maps with an open source data platform. CEO Eric Gundersen had a personal need for better mapping tools. It all started with a few open source mapping projects and then evolved into a business when Gundersen realized that these maps were desirable to a variety of consumers.
