The New York iteration of the Frieze Art Fair is held on Randall Island, under what might be the largest freestanding tent in the world.  The fair is a London transplant, and attracts everyone from serious art collectors to celebrities to museum-goers without much buying capacity.  The New York Times said that, “Despite a biblical rain, its sinuous white tent…looked already like a local landmark.”  One of the most popular art events in the world, on par with more established fairs like Art Basel in Miami, Frieze has made the art buying experience as desirable as the art itself.
